Welcome to the first full moon of the astrological new year!
That, in itself represents the beginning of a new story for you, however, Full Moons represents culmination , and this full moon represents a culmination of your cycle for the past year, especially highlighted wherever Libra is in your chart.
And if you are feeling anything like me, then it feels like a culmination of eons…
A coming back to who you truly are, a shedding of so much “stuff”.
Things may be bubbling up from the past, even if it’s “just” long lost forgotten parts of your psyche.
Some things will fill you with joy to feel connected to once again, some things maybe not so much.
With the things that are challenging, remember they are coming round not to retrigger you, but for another layer of rebirth and healing - and through both of those things it’s important to take your time, and breathe.
Have you ever wondered if it’s by accident that...
The new astrological year starts around the same time as April Fool’s day?
Perhaps it’s just me who finds my thoughts going there?! Right now at this time of year we are all going through a rebirth, and if that was to be translated through a Tarot card it would be The Fool…
Are you feeling like you are leaving the paths of others behind, like a coming home to the truest part of you?
Whilst shedding a thousand skins?
This is your April Fool’s Journey of Rebirth!
“You enter the forest at the darkest point, where there is no path. Where there is a way or path, it is someone else’s path. You are not on your own path. If you follow someone else’s way, you are not going to realize your potential. You are the Hero of your own Story.” - Joseph Campbell,
Author of The Hero of a Thousand Faces, Tarot Revelations & creator of The Hero’s Journey made Tarot mainstream without anyone knowing that is what he had done when he concocted The Hero’s Journey.
Let me show you what I mean...
The above pictures the correlation between The Hero's Journey by Joseph Campbell and The Fool’s Journey in the Tarot,
The numerical order of The Fool's Journey (The Fool (0), The Magician (1) The High Priestess (2), The Empress (3) and so on...) fits the Hero's Journey Precisely
So the Hero’s Journey and The Fool’s Journey is the SAME journey. Campbell just swapped the word "Fool" for "Hero"...
The powerful arc of the journey is the becoming of the Hero in every good story, be it book or film is based on the soul evolutionary arch within the fool’s journey of the tarot and each and every one of us. As Joseph says...
“Life is like arriving late for a movie, having to figure out what was going on without bothering everybody with a lot of questions, and then being unexpectedly called away before you find out how it ends.”
If you are anything like me then you probably fall fast asleep whenever a movie plays! - how ironic that my work is about waking people up!
But recently my dreams are speaking to me again. I’m getting creative nudges, like guides showing me the next steps, and I wonder if you are too?
A few nights ago I had a dream...
A fool like figure was nudging me to get my 2022 planner ready to print already!
Crumbs! And if that wasn’t enough…
The very next day I was woken by a man’s voice me. It woke me from another dream where I was designing a Fool card for a Tarot deck.
I asked my husband, did he call me? No. Hmm I wonder who?
Fiongal Greenlaw (an old Tarot student of mine) creator of The Wellness Foundry came to mind, “but then again he does resonate with The Fool card”
I thought to myself, picking up my phone and seeing a notification from Fiongal! He’d tagged me saying he’d given me a mention in a video where he spoke about predictive dreams. Next up a Facebook memory for the day - 5 years ago that day I posted a Fool Tarot card I had drawn!
I am getting nudges to do a deck, they happen every few years, and I start and stop, but the vision is getting clearer... and so this is The Fool whispering to our soul, through our dreams, through the equinox and through the rebirthing time of this year, it’s asking us to awaken and create, as Joseph says...
“One way or another, a guide must come to say, ‘Look, you’re in Sleepy Land. Wake. Come on a trip. There is a whole aspect of your consciousness, your being, that’s not been touched. So you’re at home here? Well, there’s not enough of you there.’ And so it starts.”
And so what starts?
Perhaps the question should be what’s coming back around for you lately?
The Full Moon in Libra looks for emotional harmony, consolidation resolution, and of beautifying our surroundings, of creating with heart, love and grace.
This moon especially as the Sun (self) Venus (love) and Chiron (healing) in Aries are all opposite the Full Moon in Libra. The Sun is always opposite the Full Moon, it’s what gives the Full Moon its light.
When the Sun in Aries is opposite the full Moon in Libra, thoughts turn to what we are shedding and who we are becoming for ourselves and in relation to others. This happens at this time every year.
But not every year do we have Venus and Chiron alongside the Sun also opposing the moon. Past wounds may come back up but with Chiron there it’s all for healing.
Saturn (the lord of time) is also supporting the Moon (emotions and past) and Venus (love and harmony) giving us the ability to grow up.
I love the definition of maturity being about not needing the last word, or needing to hurt someone who has hurt us.
It’s about finding the sweet spot of balance when the moon is full in Libra.
And on one side of the scale with the planet party in Aries it’s all childlike, playful and me me me! And on the other side it’s all about others.
It sounds like a complete paradox, and that is what every full moon is, two complete opposites being highlighted. You can feel pulled in two different directions, which is why full moons have the reputation for lunacy.
And with the Aries/Libra axis you can feel like you are being pulled apart from being true to you and where your duties are with others.
But are you really being pulled apart?
Saturn is making sure we don’t tip too far one way or another, and what's the glue?
Maturity. Having a responsibility to others, growing up and not sacrificing who you are becoming in the process.
Another quote from Joseph...
“We’re in a freefall into the future. We don’t know where we’re going. Things are changing so fast, and always when you’re going through a long tunnel, anxiety comes along. And all you have to do to transform your hell into a paradise is to turn your fall into a voluntary act. It’s a very interesting shift of perspective and that’s all it is… joyful participation in the sorrows and everything changes.”
And that’s the sweet spot here, joyful participation in sorrow is a Saturnian lesson. As is waiting with a good attitude and not needing to hurt anyone that’s hurt you, all of these three lessons show maturation. And if you are anything like me right now, you are feeling the new you being born once again, back to the one you once were.
The root of the split may be presenting itself like a gaping wound, but in there you can see the true gift of stability, security and maturity coming through once the new life has been birthed. To do that it’s time to parent your own inner child so the childhood wound no longer splits you off, and finally allow the healing to take place and the miracle to come through. This version of you has the wisdom that was missing, which is why that miracle can come through.
The miracle on the horizon that has eluded you your whole life until now.
Now’s the time to grow up, release, let go, receive and come back to the truer version of you.
Is this resonating with you? I’d love to know! If it is then I have to let you know that although I have nothing more than this for you right now (in true Fool fashion as he is number 0!) on April Fool’s Day next year I am holding a special April Fool’s Rebirth Retreat.
I know I know! It’s a whole year away! But if you book on now you can spread your plan over 12 months, and how super exciting to know you will be honouring this cycle of rebirth (as yet unknown for you) this time next year!
Makes it feel like what's coming for you is pretty special eh?
And if you think you can wait, you can be as for plenty of time don’t be FOOLED! There’s a backlog with Covid, so I couldn't book the retreat venue until the Winter Solstice at the end of this year and there's only two places left on that already.
So on that note I’ll leave you with one final Hero’s Journey/ Joseph Campbell quote...
“The big question is whether you are going to be able to say a hearty yes to your adventure.”
“We must be willing to let go of the life we planned so as to have the life that is waiting for us.”
“If you follow your bliss you put yourself on a kind of track that has been there all the while, waiting for you, and the life that you ought to be living is the one you are living. Follow your bliss and don’t be afraid, and doors will open where you didn’t know they were going to be. Following your bliss is not self-indulgent, but vital; your whole physical system knows that this is the way to be alive in this world and the way to give to the world the very best that you have to offer. There IS a track just waiting for each of us and once on it, doors will open that were not open before and would not open for anyone else.”
“The healing energy of the sea and stone circles is very powerful, I can’t find the words to describe it. I recently finished The Transformational Truth of Tarot and it was incredible to meet my soul sisters in the flesh and so special to give gratitude for what has been an incredible transformational time in my life.”
Angela Campbell - UK
“Words cannot convey the emotions experienced! I felt at home right from the start, meeting my fellow sisters that I had been journeying with was profound, the strength of connection and depth was everywhere, I felt like I had come home, and I came away with so much more confidence in myself and my abilities.”
Susan Breakenbridge -Scotland
"Never before have I felt such profound healing from land. The energy of the house is so powerful I ended up manifesting exactly what I intended on the very first evening together. My only unfulfilled wish is that it could have been longer! “
Sophie LeFevre, Belgium.
“I know “reborn” can seem cliche but it’s a truly apt description in the transformation of shedding anger and baggage I have carried for years. Plus it didn’t leave me when I left. I’ve had a genuine life-changing profound sustainable transformation. I had to fly from the USA to be here and I'm so glad I did”
Tim Toma - USA
